The Haus

welcome
The Alpha Delta Phi is the oldest Greek organization on Columbia University's campus, and is the fourth oldest brotherhood in the United States and Canada. Since 1927, the membership of the Alpha Delta Phi has lived, worked, and played in our beloved lodge house (pictured right), located at 526 West 114th Street (between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue), conveniently situated across the street from Butler Library, and mere steps away from Columbia's campus. For a map and directions to the house, visit the contact page.

history
The Alpha Delta Phi Society is a coeducational fraternity and one of North America's foremost coeducational Greek-letter institutions, with six active chapters. The heritage, traditions, and history of the Alpha Delta Phi date back to 1832, when Samuel Eells of Hamilton College set out to found a "union for intellectual and literary purposes" with "the integrity of youthful character." The strength and principles of Eells's new society fueled its rapid spread, and it became the first fraternity at eleven campuses including Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Brown, and Amherst.
